About

Thoughtful science for curious minds.

Scientific Digest explores the intersection of science, technology, and culture to better understand the human experience in the modern world.

We aim to tell the stories behind the research: the history, the philosophy, the unexpected consequences, and the cultural impact. Every article begins with evidence but doesn’t end there. Science is ultimately a human endeavour, and understanding it means understanding the people, ideas, and societies that surround it.

The goal is simple: thoughtful articles that are accessible enough to read over coffee, yet substantial enough to stay with you long afterwards.

About the creator

Hi, I'm Leah.

I’m a physicist and science communicator with a fascination for the ideas that shape our understanding of the world. My PhD research explores active matter, a field of physics that studies systems capable of converting energy into motion, from microscopic particles to collective biological behaviour.

Outside the lab, I’m equally interested in the broader questions that science raises: how new technologies reshape society, why certain ideas capture the public imagination, and what modern research can tell us about the human experience. I created Scientific Digest as a platform to explore these intersections and share scientific stories or perspectives that inspire me.

When I’m not working on SD or my research, you’ll find me reading, running or rewatching Lord of the Rings.

Ideas worth digesting.
